Looking through these painter's eyes at
stormy seas or sunset skies
I sometimes wonder why I try to show you things that
catch my eye.
Then someone says "I think I see just what it is
you're telling me".
And that's the time, that I find, it's all worthwhile.
So don't listen when the critics say
"It doesn't matter anyway,
it's all been seen and done before,
and we don't need it anymore".
I'll keep on working just the same
'cause in the end it's all a game
so do it for yourself and smile'
and in the end you'll find,
it's all worthwhile.
The sculptor he works all alone,
to carve his truth from solid stone
With aching arms he'll work away,'til finally there comes a day,
That he'll put down his tools and rest, his work must stand up to the test
And that's the time, that he will find, it's all worthwhile.

Chorus.

Then when I try to write a song
with clever lines that roll along,
The words just seem to roll on by, so every day again
I try.
Then suddenly they'll fall in line, and everything will
work out fine
And that's the time, that I find, it's all worthwhile.

Chorus.
