BUSKER'S BLUES

Won't you drop some change into my hat

Before you go walking on,

If you stop for a while, you might raise a smile

As you listen to my song.

I know the words ain't up to much

But it's a catchy melody.

And if I make just another fifty pence

I'll have enough for a cup of tea!

Well I stand here singing come rain or shine

To make just a pound or two.

Playing guitar and singing these songs,

What else can I do?

So just throw in some coins, anything will do

Before I get moved along

Then I'll be back here in a day or two

Just singing this same old song.

Well a busker's life can be so tough

Sometimes I wonder why,

I stand here singing, all day long

As the people walk on by.

So I've had enough, I'm moving on,

I don't care what you say.

But I'll give you one last chorus and

That's all you're gonna get today.

Won't you drop some change into my hat

Before you go walking on,

If you stop for a while, you might raise a smile

As you listen to my song.

I know the words ain't up to much

But it's a catchy melody.

And if I make just another fifty pence

I'll have enough for a cup of tea!
